
We built this infrared wall heater for one reason: to cram a ton of heat into a tiny spot, without wasting energy on heating the air around it. It’s a shortwave halogen heater, pure and simple, designed to beam its heat straight where you need it. Here’s the thinking behind the specs. We chose a 400V, 2500W halogen tube that’s just 300mm long. Why? Because it’s all about packing serious heat into a small space. Running on 400V keeps the electrical load on your system manageable, while the 2500W gives you that immediate punch you need for fast heating cycles. And the 300mm length? It’s a sweet spot. Short enough to focus that heat beam and fit into tight corners, but long enough to keep the filament stable and the output consistent. Then we looked at what makes it last. The tube uses a halogen cycle to keep the filament strong, even when it’s screaming hot. This fights off that annoying blackening you see in other bulbs and keeps the heat output steady over time. We also coated the tube to control the type of light it puts out and to protect the quartz from harsh conditions. And that R7s base? It wasn’t an afterthought. It’s built to handle the extreme heat at the ends of the tube and gives you a solid, two-point electrical connection. That means lower resistance at the contacts and fewer hot spots that can kill a lamp prematurely. Out in the real world, this setup is a simple swap for industrial heating spots where space is tight and you need heat, fast. The shortwave output gets to work immediately, and the R7s connector makes the wiring a no-brainer on standard fixtures. Just one thing to keep in mind: this is a hot-running unit. A 2500W, 400V tube puts out a lot of heat, so you’ll want to make sure your machine has the right cooling and clearances sorted out before you fire it up.
