Infrared is different. It goes straight for the surface. By using short and medium-wave IR, the heat sinks into the walls and ceilings. This keeps the surface temperature just high enough that water can&amp;rsquo;t settle.&#xA;Think about it: if the wall stays warm, the steam from your shower doesn&amp;rsquo;t turn into those tiny droplets. And if there&amp;rsquo;s no dampness, mold spores have nothing to hold onto. They just can&amp;rsquo;t get a grip.&#xA;It basically turns your lighting into a backup dehumidifier. Instead of waiting for the air to dry, the lamps push moisture out of the wet corners and out of your grout lines much faster than a regular heater ever could.&#xA;But you have to get the power right.&#xA;If you go too heavy on the wattage, you&amp;rsquo;re just baking your fixtures. Too low? The walls stay cold, and you&amp;rsquo;re right back to square one with the dampness. We usually suggest overlapping the heat zones. It kills those &amp;ldquo;cold spots&amp;rdquo; where mold loves to hide.&#xA;Now, just a heads-up: this isn&amp;rsquo;t a magic wand that replaces your exhaust fan.&#xA;The lamps stop the water from sticking to the walls, but that moisture is still in the room. You still need a fan to actually pull that humid air out of the house.
