Why the gold actually matters
Here is the deal with gold coating. Standard quartz tubes are leaky—they let too much energy escape into the air. By adding a thin layer of gold to the quartz, we bounce that infrared radiation forward. It pushes the heat exactly where you need it: onto the workpiece. You get higher temperatures without cranking up the power bill. But a word of warning. These coatings are finicky. If your team touches the tubes with bare hands, the oils from their skin bake into the gold during the first heat cycle. That creates “hot spots,” and before you know it, your tube is dead. Keep the fingerprints off.
Moving to curved modules
Straight lamps are easy. But when you need to heat a cylindrical part—like a PET preform or an automotive component—that’s where things get tricky. We bend the quartz tubes to fit your specific machine footprint. No more guessing. Plus, we bundle the lamps, reflectors, and wiring into one single unit. You can stop obsessing over individual lamp specs and just look at the total heat output. It’s a drop-in replacement. You slide it in, and it works.
The trade-off you need to watch
More heat density means your cycle times drop, which is great for production. But there’s a catch. That extra power puts a lot of stress on your power supply and cooling. If you go with a high-wattage curved module, make sure your ventilation can actually pull that ambient heat away from your electronics. If you don’t, you’re just trading a heating problem for a fried controller.
