Let’s be honest: putting electrical heaters in a shower or bathroom is a bit like playing with fire—or in this case, water and electricity. It’s a risky mix. To keep things safe, we use IP65-rated infrared heaters. In plain English? That means the housing is sealed tight. Dust can’t get in, and if you splash water on it, the electrical guts stay bone-dry.
Why “Explosion-Proof” Quartz?
Here is the scary part about standard quartz tubes: they hate cold water. If a stray drop of cold water hits a scorching hot tube, the glass can shatter instantly. That’s a nightmare scenario in a shower. To fix this, we use explosion-proof quartz. We’ve added a special coating and a reinforced shell that handles the temperature swings much better. But even if the tube does fail, the design is built to catch the mess. Instead of glass shards flying everywhere, everything stays contained inside the unit.
How the Heat Actually Works
These lamps use short-wave infrared. Instead of trying to warm up all the air in the room (which takes forever), the heat goes straight to your skin. It’s a fast, cozy feeling the second you step in. Because we pack a lot of power into a small tube, the heat density is intense. Just a heads-up on the technical side: make sure your wiring is up to the task. If your cables are too thin, you’ll lose power, and your heater will just feel lukewarm.
Getting It Installed
We’ve designed these to be simple drop-in replacements for the heaters you probably already have. The IP65 seal is a lifesaver here because it stops humidity from eating away at the terminals and causing a short circuit. One thing to keep in mind: the casing can get pretty hot. Since the outer shell is designed to trap any potential breaks in the tube, it absorbs a lot of that heat. Give the fixture some breathing room. Don’t cram it against a wall or flammable materials. It needs a bit of airflow, otherwise, the internal safety switch will trip and shut the whole thing down.
