They aren’t just about comfort; they’re about fighting the damp. Here’s the thing: mold loves a cold, wet wall. Our heaters use infrared light to go after that moisture at the source.
How it actually works
Standard heaters just warm up the air, but air is pretty bad at moving heat around. Our lamps are different. They send out short-wave radiation that cuts right through the moisture on your surfaces. It basically makes the water molecules on your walls and ceiling vibrate, which speeds up evaporation. By keeping your tiles warmer than the “dew point,” the water simply can’t settle. No standing water, no mold. It’s that simple.
Finding the sweet spot
Now, there is a catch. Because this heat is so intense and immediate, you can’t just crank the wattage to the max in a tiny room. If you do, you might overheat your fixtures or feel a “stinging” sensation on your skin. Not exactly the relaxing vibe you want after a shower. We spend a lot of time balancing the power. We want your walls bone-dry, but we don’t want to scorch you.
Setting it up and keeping it running
We house everything in waterproof casings because, well, bathrooms are steamy. Just a heads-up: make sure your electrical circuit can handle the initial surge when you first flip the switch. If you’re replacing old-school incandescent bulbs, these will drop right in. But you’ll notice they’re much more aggressive when it comes to clearing out the dampness. One last tip: keep the glass clean. If dust or soap scum builds up on the quartz lenses, it blocks those infrared waves. That means the heat doesn’t reach the walls, the moisture lingers, and your efficiency drops. Keep the glass clear, and your ceiling stays clean.
